Slaz faced tough attacks from Old Malton early on though succeeded in soaked up the pressure. Moving out of their own 25 yard area, the team looked composed, pressuring the home team, and breaking up opposition play.
However, early on the team began to crack and stop playing good flowing hockey. At this point, Old Malton piled on the pressure and drove men forward. Slaz failed to mark up and Old Malton got the first goal through poor marking from Slaz.
Slaz came back and used the full length of the pitch, with players opening up space down the left and right sides of the pitch.
But slaz were unable to penetrate the oppositions “D”.
Man of the match and new recruit Isaac Fisher had a great game, looking composed on the left hand side of the pitch even when flocked by numbers of Old Malton players.
Dan Perry also had a good game squeezing round the back of the defence on the right to bag the consolation goals. However, despite dominating the second half, Slaz were unable to get back into the game.
