Slazenger mens first team got back to winning ways on Saturday, with a conclusive 7-3 win over Thirsk 1st’s
Slaz had a good start and moved the ball round well. However, against the run of play, it was Thirsk that opened up the scoring and went 2 0 up in short order. Under pressure, Slaz maintained composure and played on.
The Horbury side looked dangerous down both wings. Man of the match and left winger, Jack Kitchen was a constant danger, scoring three goals from good close quarter play inside the D.
Striker Richard Tuddenham scored 3 goals once he found the target. 2 of these came from looping short corner shots, over the keeper.
Paul Wiper had a great game too attacking the opposition defence. Mark Swindon managed to find the back of the goal with one of many shots, rounding off the 7th. Overall a great game, as Slaz hope to carry the momentum into the last few encounters of the year, starting this Saturday at home.
