SLAZENGERS GET SOME SHOOTING PRACTICE
Slazenger were out to prove why they are top of the league against their opponents Lockwood Park Dragon of which they beat 4 Nil last Sunday. Sarah Cooper opened the scoring shortly after the push back and followed with a second converting a deflection from Jessica Rudge.
Sarah Hobbs then had a one on one with the Keeper and put Slazengers 3 Nil up with only 20 minutes gone. Shortly after she put a wonderful cross across the area and Sarah Cooper converted once again. Another tap in from Cooper put the score line up to 5 Nil.
Slazengers continued to put on the pressure and Lockwood conceded an own goal to increase the score line with a scramble in the D. Half time was sealed with another cracking run from Sarah Hobbs taking on a number of players and the Keeper to put Slazengers up 7 Nil at half time.
At half time Slazengers re-composed and focused on the aim of increasing the score line. Hobbs converted a short corner which was slipped from the top to Andrea Wallace who slipped it back to Hobbs on penalty spot for a straight strike.
Holly Tyers added to the score line taking on a number of players from the half way line and finished with a well executed Tomohawk into the roof of the net.
Goals followed from Hobbs, Cooper and Tyers again, before Lockwood got a goal back taking the defence by surprise.
Final Score was 12 – 1 to Slazengers and they increased there goal difference to 49, 10 more than their rivals.
