Slazengers mens first team travelled to Lincoln Roses on Saturday with both teams defending unbeaten records in the league, it was Slazengers who lost that record though going down 3-0 to a strong Lincoln side.Things could have been very different however with Slazengers controlling the first 20 minutes and creating a number of chances only for the final pass to miss its target or the home keeper to pull off a good save. After Lincoln opened the scoring following a defensive mix up, Slazengers heads seemed to drop a little as they found themselves second best to the 50-50’s and giving possession away too easily.
Into the second half, Lincoln continued to control the majority of possession although Slazengers still created some chances, both Paul Wiper and Dan Perry going close. Lincoln scored two quick goals to effectively kill off the game midway through the second half and although Slazengers continued to push, they failed to get on the score sheet.
Jack Kitchen took the man of the match award for Slazengers who will look to bounce back quickly from their first defeat of the season at home to Leeds next week.
