Report: 16-10-2010 – Ladies 1st’s (5) vs. (5) Leeds 1st’s

October 16, 2010 by Slazenger HC

Slazengers always knew this game was going to be tough as Leeds usually play a very physical game and move the ball quickly around the pitch. Leeds true to form showed their physical side when one of the midfielders decided to shoulder barge Mandy Smith off the ball with Mandy being flattened, the offending player got green carded as the Umpires tried keep the game under control. The player was lucky to still be on the pitch later on with a number of reckless tackles, which caused friction between the two sides.Slazengers Claire Mills had an excellent game with a Hattrick, Mandy Smith scored from a perfectly placed short corner routine and the teams captain Holly Tyers got the fifth goal. Slazengers showed there domination with the score line being 5 – 3 with 15mins to go, but Leeds put more pressure on and with two lucky breaks managed to equalise and the final score was 5 all.
