Slazenger U12 Boys played five matches in their latest round of Yorkshire Youth League games.
The first game saw them produce a good performance against Normanby Park A, but lost by one goal to the league winners.
There was some solid defending by James Dransfield and Ailish Hendry.
Slaz were eager in their second game against Boston Spa and forward Jake Barras made two great chances for himself from the top of the D, both delivered by bullet passes from Chris Wood, but he was unable to capitalise.
In the third match, the Horbury side earned a goalless draw with both Adam Driver and Ailish Hendry showing their versatility and strength.
Halifax were the only side to catch Slaz on the back foot by scoring an early goal. Slaz’ hit straight back with short corner opportunities but Chris Wood was unable to convert.
In the last game against Harrogate, Slazenger took an early lead with a well struck goal from Daniel Perry fed by Chris Wood.
Harrogate equalised and although Slaz’ produced more chances they were unable to score, with player of the tournament Adam Davis for five excellent games with great saves and vigilance.
