Slazenger U10’s traveled to York to take part in a tournament at Huntington School and returned home with two wins and three draws from their five matches.
Slazenger began the first of five matches with probably their strongest six to take on York’s B team and scoring in the opening minutes through Daniel Perry.
Jake Barras soon made this two with his first goal of the season to seal the win.
The second game against Wakefield was more even and the Horbury club took the lead when Ailish Hendry threaded the ball through to Henry Moore who then pushed the ball into the Wakefield D where Perry tapped it in.
Henry Moore made the game safe with a Slazenger goal.
The third game against Normanby Park looked like ending in defeat after a real end-to-end battle, but Barras managed to secure two points with an equaliser in the dying seconds.
The final two games against Ben Rhydding C and Chapeltown B finished goalless.
