SLAZENGER Hockey Club is celebrating after four of its young players were picked for the West Yorkshire Youth Hockey teams.
The quartet are Lee Secker (U16), Gareth Ventom (U14), Jermane Cockerill and Christopher Wood (U13s) and they were picked after attending four weeks of development training with 30 other players from each age group, with 16 eventually making the cut.
A spokesperson for the Slazenger club said: “All the boys had to prove they had exceptional ball skills and could play in different positions and also play as a team with others they had never played with before.
“A lot of new friendships have been formed through these sessions for the boys as well as some new hockey skills.
“CCC who sponsored shirts for the club’s junior section said they were delighted with the boys’ success and will continue to help and support them in the future.”
