A late Jermane Cockerill goal finally settled this thrilling Plate semi-final match in Slazenger’s favour.The home side dominated the first half but the sides went in level, Slazenger’s goal coming after a well placed short corner Cockerill was converted by Simon Killey.
Rotherham found it hard to progress up the field but managed to slip through and made a run which ended the first half all square,.
The second half was again dominated by Slazenger who took the lead with a well-forged run by Killey who set up a great goal scored by Chris Wood.
Killey then scored his second goal of the match with a great hit from just inside the D, but Rotherham came back with full force to pull level.
With just two minutes to go an tension running high Wood set up a lovely ball played on to Cockerill who pushed it past the goalkeeper for the winner.
