Wakefield Ladies fourths visited local rivals Slazenger 2nds on Saturday hoping to at least come away with a share of the spoils, but in fact were beaten 3-0.
Although both sides had the opportunities neither managed to score in the first half and the second period followed the same pattern with Slazenger again attacking strongly.
The deadlock was broken after another attack was initially blocket, with a well-struck shot from the edge of the D. Wakefield’s youngsters never gave up, well guided by the excellend Tish Applewhite in midfield, and Angela Cloe at the centre of defence.
But the visitors lacked the strength up front, missing their top goalscorer for the game, and Slazenger went on to score two more before the final whistle.
