Slazenger Fifths’ first win of the season was a comfortable 7-3 success over Brigg fourths who provided the biggest shock of the day with a goal in the opening minute.
Ian Wiper scored twice from penalty corners and in between Steve Wood fired true from the top of the D to put Slazenger 3-1 up after 20 minutes.
Man of the Match John Sykes score his first of four, just before half-time. Good work from Gareth Ventom led to Sykes’ second and, after a sloppy period in which Brigg pegged back two more goals, Bob Stevens’ run down the right enabled Sykes to strike twice more.
Robin Whawell and Keith Hellam impressed for Slazenger.
