Slazengers long trip to Newcastle University in North Division 2 took its toll for a while, but ultimately proved successful.
Newcastle started strongly and put the Slazenger defence under pressure but they were able to absorb anything thrown at them.
It took about 20 minutes to break the deadlock but it was Slazenger who broke the deadlock through Windler. Slazenger continued to put the North side under pressure but were denied a further goal before half-time.
Straight from re-start Slazenger applied more pressure and were soon 2-0 up as Mark Butel grabbed his first of the afternoon with a great solo run and finish that left the goal-keeper scrambling.
Newcastle continued to press but again Slazenger maintained their composure before hitting back for David Kaye to score.
Keith Whittle then lobbed the goalkeeper for Butel to tuck away his second.
The home side did grab one goal in the final few seconds of the game but Slazenger were dominant and deserved the three points.
