Slazenger fifths made a bright start at Acomb thirds but eventually succumbed 5-3.
Simon Randall put Slazenger in front, but the visitors conceded a soft goal and Acomb scored twice more before ‘half-time to seemingly take control.
Slazenger conceded a fourth just after the break when a tactical switch changed the complexion of the game. Haydyn Foster found Graham Parker in the D for goal number 2, and Parker found the net again to set up a thrilling climax.
But Acomb made the game safe when the Slazenger defence lapsed once again.
