Report: 04-11-2000 – Mens 1st’s (6) vs (1) Chapeltown

November 4, 2000 by Slazenger HC

Mark Butel blazed the hat-trick trail as Slazenger left Division 1 rivals Chapeltown without a prayer.

Butel opened the scoring with a penalty stroke in the first five minutes. Chapeltown hit back but the Slazenger defence stood firm.

Alec Gilston then netted the first of two to put Slazenger in control. His first was a superb strike while his second came from a rebound off the goalkeeper.

Man of the match Mark Swindon moved the ball around well in the second half as Slazenger dominated the game.

The fourth, Butel’s second came from a well worked short corner. Jonny Wiper netted the fifth from a solo run in on goal.

Butel wrapped things up with a goal after dribbling around three defenders.

Chapeltown scored a late consolation goal to deny Dave Hellam a clean sheet. Slazenger entertain Roses at home on Saturday push back 1:30pm
