Men's 1st's (3) vs. (2) Sheffield Uni Bankers 4th's With the merest hint of a tear in the eye Slazenger First Eleven took to the field on Saturday for veteran Philip ‘safe hands’ Midgley’s last game. Mens 1st's (2) vs. (0) Thirsk and Malton 1st's Mens 1st's traveled to Thirsk and Malton 1st's for a 4:30pm fixture. Goals were scored by Richard Tuddenham (2). Mens 2nds (5) vs. (2) Thirsk and Malton 2nd's Slazengers men's 2nd team entertained Thirsk 2's on Saturday and ran our 5-2 winners thanks to 4 goals from Asad Baig and 1 from captain Ben Graham. Mens 1st's (6) vs. (9) Rotherham 1st's It would be fair to say that elements of Slazenger’s men’s first eleven have had a relaxing summer this year. Add to this a pretty informal set of pre-season friendly’s, and the competitive opening of the 2017/18 season was always going to be an uphill affair.
