2025 Subscription Changes

August 28, 2025 by Slazenger HC Leave a Comment

Dear Members,

Over the last two seasons, the Club has faced substantial increases in running costs. These include:

  • An additional £2,000 per year in fees from England Hockey
  • A similar rise in payments to Slazenger Sports Club, supporting the vital pitch replacement fund

We know that many households are facing rising costs at the moment, and we have been very mindful of this when looking at how these substantial increases in Club costs can be covered. The Committee carefully considered how best to manage these rises, and this was approved by the attendees of this seasons AGM. It was also agreed at the AGM to maintain match fees at the same rate as last season to minimise the impact of the cost increase as far as possible. We are proud that, even with these changes, we are one of the lowest cost clubs in the county.

To spread the impact, we have agreed on a two-year staggered increase:

  • For the 2025/26 season, senior subscriptions will rise by £10 to £110
  • For the 2026/27 season, junior and senior subscriptions will rise by a further £10

This will mean that for the 2025-2026 season, the annual subscriptions costs will be:

Under 8 Membership (Year 2-3)£80
Under 10 Membership (Year 4-5)£90
Under 12, 14 & 16 Membership (Year 6-11) £100
Senior membership (Over 18 Players)£110
Senior Training Rate (this includes unlimited training and 3 games maximum)£50

However, we will continue to maintain the family membership cap:

Family Membership Cap £300

The junior subscriptions continue to cover all training and match’s, including regional or national cup entries. Junior players paying a junior subscription do not need to pay a senior subscription to play in senior league matches. However, they will have to pay match fees, detailed below.

Please note that any existing *Direct Debit* payments will need to be amended for the coming season.

Senior Match Fees will continue as follows for any friendly, league and cup fixture:

Senior match fee rate £8 (per match)
U18, Students in Full Time Education & Apprenticeships£5 (per match)

We want to reassure you that these changes are the minimum necessary to cover unavoidable costs and to ensure the long-term stability of the club. We greatly value your ongoing support and commitment, which allows us to keep providing a welcoming, affordable, and competitive environment for everyone who plays hockey.

We have also introduced a senior training rate. We recognise that there may be players who wish to try out hockey, get fit, or return to the game. This allows a player to train through the season without paying full costs. We understand that there may be rare circumstances where these players may play a league game to help out a squad through the season. With this membership band, a maximum of 3 league games can be played through the season.

Thank you for continuing to support the club.

Regards,

The Club Committee
