Ladies 2nd’s (1) vs. (3) Tadcaster 1st’s
Final game of the season was away at Tadcaster, for a sunny midday game.
Slaz had a fast start with a short corner very early in the game, which Slaz managed to capitalise on, scored by captain Alex from a deflected pass off Evie. Tadcaster fought back strong battling into our D. Following a hard hit by Tadcaster, the ball was battered into the top of our goal nearly hitting the defenders in the head. For the remainder of the second half, Slaz kept their heads up and were giving it their all, with some great chances up the wings.
Both teams came out hard in the second half, Slazenger’s had many short corners and chances to score but unfortunately couldn’t get the ball in the back of the goal. Tadcaster closed down Slaz quickly which resulted in them getting a break and scoring . Despite Slazenger’s being determined to get another goal, Tadcaster were quick at getting through our press, resulting in another shot on goal, which succeeded in reaching the back of the net. The final score finished 3-1. Player went to Stacey for good hits and attacking within midfield.
