For the 2022/2023 season, we are back to “business as usual” and with a new outlook for our Regional Competitions ( A move to competitive tournaments and/or League formats > further strengthening the pride of playing for your County ).
Please register using this form if you would like to be assessed for WY Hockey this coming season. If you are currently a Performance Centre player who is been assessed for the new Talent Academy, please complete the form to enable us understand the wider player group in West Yorkshire,
Our season will comprise:-
2 ( or 3 ) assessment sessions
6 Training sessions
3 ( or 4 ) Competition days
In terms of costs:
Our Assessment sessions will be provided Free of Charge.
For those selected, our season cost will be £120. This will be payable upon selection, either as a lump sum or in 2 instalments.
In addition:
1. We will be offering additional support sessions for our u13 to u17 players who demonstrate the potential to be invited to a TA assessment – Ensuring that our WY nominations are as prepared as they can be for the TA assessment process.
2. Small group GK specific sessions will take place for our u12 to u17 GK’s – Enabling specific and dedicated training sessions for the regions Goal Keepers.
We will have our dedicated age / gender coaches looking after the squads for the season, including several current Performance Centre coaches as we look to drive West Yorkshire hockey forward this season ( and beyond ).
County Hockey age groups run on School / Club Year groups – The age groups are:-
u17 – Year 11/12
u15 – Year 10
u14 – Year 9
u13 – Year 8
u12 – Year 7 & Year 6
Our sessions ( unless specifically stated ) take place at Weetwood Sports Park ( Ring Road, Leeds, LS16 5AU )
The Yorkshire Region now runs to the England Hockey Central Calendar – thus ensuring there are no Hockey Activity Clashes. Our sessions will be Friday nights and the designated Sundays.
In terms of kit West Yorkshire are undergoing a full kit change !!! We cannot wait for this as we re-brand to a significantly improved look > full details to follow.
