On the 25th June 2011, Kerry Rivett (nee Hopwood) will be doing a tandem skydive to raise money for MND. The full details are below:
“Just less than a year ago a number of members of the club attended my Dad’s funeral – my Dad (Peter Hopwood) had been a player, umpire and social member for a number of years before being diagnosed with MND in the summer of 2009. We were very touched by the show of friendship and support offered by so many Slazengers stalwarts and legends, including those of you who taught me to play hockey. Although I am not playing at the moment (my two young children keep me very busy at weekends) I did eventually play at county level for the Lincolnshire Ladies side and competed at the finals of the county championships. As a marker of the anniversary of my Dad’s death and in his memory, we (my sister Rachel, her boyfriend Allan and myself) are doing a tandem skydive (from 10,000ft) on Saturday 25th June. If any club members wish to sponsor us (in my Dad’s memory), please add your donations to www.justgiving.com/kerryrivett. We would very much appreciate it if this information could be passed on to those club members who were friends with my Dad, and particularly those who shared their memories with us at his funeral.
Thanks,
Kerry Rivett (nee Hopwood)”
