BRITISH HOCKEY CALL UP FOR AILISH HENDRY
In her first year at Greenhead College, Huddersfield – Slazenger Hockey Club 1st Team Player Ailish Hendry has been selected to play for the ‘British Colleges Team’. In an arduous selection process commencing with trials for the Northern British Colleges, Ailish gained her place in the British Squad after final selection at Beeston Hockey Club in Nottinghamshire. Slazenger Hockey Club 1st team coach Steve Wood commented “As a lifelong Slazenger Player, Ailish featured at the age of 8 years old in the Junior Club’s inaugural newsletter. You could tell even at that early age she had that special ingredient to excel and we as a club are extremely proud of her achievements and wish her the very best in the future”. Former Horbury School student, Ailish will now play warm up games against select England XI teams before their commitment to playing International teams at home and abroad.
