Training

Slazenger Hockey club maintains a structured training schedule for all ages. Training is spread across the week, allowing plenty of time for each section of the club to hone their skills. For Junior teams, training is held on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings for advanced players.

If you are looking to join the club, then training is a perfect way to come and get to know us. Just check the most appropriate training session listed below, and come along!

Boys & Girls U10, U12, New Starters Sundays – STARTS SEPTEMBER

9:15am to 10:30 am (£2 Per Session)

Boys & Girls U12(Advanced),U14, U16 Sundays – STARTS SEPTEMBER

10:30 to 12 noon (£2 Per Session)

Junior Mixed Ages Mondays – STARTS SEPTEMBER

20:00 to 21:00 hrs (cost per Session)

Junior Boys & Girls Goalkeeper Training 1st Sunday of the Month – STARTING OCTOBER

12noon to 13:00 hrs

Safety – Parents should ensure that their children are properly equipped for each session (Gum shields, shin pads, and suitable clothes for weather conditions). For new starters, we are happy to provide a suitable sized for players to try out the sport.

Goalkeepers – Specialised GK coaching is held for the junior keepers. Any players interested in getting into a keepers kit, please contact our goalie coach Alan Bates.

Parents – We will be delighted if any parents wish to get involved, in order that the coaching team can spend more time supporting your childrens development. Last year, we had excellent support from parents, and we hope you will be willing to get involved again this year. Please let us know how you would like to be involved.
