SUNDAY 18th SEPTEMBER – GYO FREE COACHING/ TASTER DAY
Slazenger Hockey Club is always looking for new players of all ages, and this season is no exception. This is especially important in our Junior section, as players grow, develop and move up the ranks. With our Club First award, structured training sessions and England Hockey Junior Development Center, we believe its a great place to continue development from school, or start playing.
On SUNDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER, in conjunction with England Hockey’s Grow Your Own initiative, our Junior training session will be free to new starters. All you will need to bring is yourself. We do recommend that players wear appropriate clothing for the weather, trainers suitable for astroturf (no football boots, studded running shoes or blades; normal trainers are fine). We have a big bag of spare sticks, so if you dont have one, you can use one of ours!
ALSO
If you are already a member – we don’t want you to miss out. So if you bring a new starter along, the training session is FREE as well!
Safety – For new players, we understand you may not have all of the equipment needed to play. This is why we maintain a supply of spare sticks to players to borrow. We ask that juniors are suitably dressed for the weather conditions and wear footwear suitable for astroturf. Trainers are fine, although football boots, spiked running shoes or any other footwear which will damage the astroturf are prohibited. We also recommend bringing shin pads and gum shield if you have them.
